Mary Kerwin Connell died peacefully on August 22, 2011 at home in Whiting, NJ, She was 90. Born in Newark, NJ, to John and Margaret McGauran Kerwin, she and her beloved husband Bernard raised their family in the Vailsburg Section of Newark and then South Orange, NJ. She later maintained residences in Whiting, NJ and Hudson FL for the last 20 years. She attended Sacred Heart School in Vailsburg and graduated from Our Lady of the Valley in Orange in 1939. She worked for Prudential in Newark after high school and married Bernard Connell in 1946. She later retired from the Essex County Probation Department in 1986. Her beloved husband Bernard died in 1976. She was predeceased by her parents and also by her sister Eleanore Tracey and brothers James and Phillip Kerwin. Survivors include daughters Mary Ellen C. Goger and her husband Ray, Kathleen Connell, Regina Connell and her husband John Pertino and Patrice Connell; One son Bernie Connell and his wife Marge. She is also survived by her grandchildren Megan Goger, Sean Goger and his wife Ann, Brian Goger and Kristin Pertino and her great grandchildren Regan, Riley and Mackenzie. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main St., Peapack. Funeral Mass Friday 10:30am at St. Brigid Church Peapack.
