Obituary of George Jones

George Michael “Mike” Jones passed away suddenly on June 29, 2020 at home.  He was 68.

Born in Morristown, he lived in Madison before moving to Lake Hiawatha in 1978.

Following 9/11 Mike began to volunteer for the Red Cross, and went on to become the Disaster Director. He proudly served the organization for over a decade. 

 Mike was an avid reader and passionate about family genealogy.

He was predeceased by his father George Jones and his son Christopher.

He is survived by his wife Robin Lee Jones, two brothers; Thomas Jones and Stephen Jones and his wife Paula.  He is also survived by his mother Veronica Carey Jones of Madison, three nieces; Stephanie, Suzanne and Colleen and two nephews Brian and David.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2nd from 4-7pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham.  A Graveside service will be held on Friday at 11am at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chester, NJ.  Donations in Michaels memory can be made to the American Red Cross www.redcross.org.
