One wonderful remembrance I have of Joe goes back many years. Joe had finished college and was working for Bell Labs, I just started in college, studying engineering. I first met Joe when he was going out with Judy and he asked me if I had any projects going. I told him I wanted to build an intercom for our home, but the commercial units were still too expensive for my budget. I saw him a few weeks later and he handed me a bag with a simple circuit design and a few Radio Shack components to be able to put together an intercom. It worked perfectly. He was so personable, always giving back, and I never forgot it.

Lisa, Mary Beth, John, and Mrs. Horzepa (Judy, but you'll always be Mrs. Horzepa to me). LISA, this is especially for you. It's been decades since kindergarten, elementary school, middle school and high school (although I haven't aged a bit!), but I remember slumber parties in the basement, wads of Big Red gum, and your total disinterest in Barbies (somehow we were friends anyway). I also remember liking your dad - both your parents. He wasn't as intimidating as other parents sometimes seem when you're 7 years old. And he was really smart. Not just regular grown-up smart. Your dad had fun Texas Instruments stuff. That's how I knew he was really really smart! Lisa, I love you and i'm here for you - in your own time, at your own pace.
