Obituary of Malcolm K. Palmer

Malcolm K. Palmer passed away suddenly on April 1, 2016 at Hackettstown Hospital. He was 89. Born in Meadville, PA, he was the son of Rev. and Mrs. Malcolm R. Palmer. He lived in Mt. Holly, New Market, Dunellen, Middletown, Parsippany and Chester NJ before moving to Long Valley in 2002. Mr. Palmer served in the Navy during WWII from 1944-1946 on the Transport Ship the USS Audubon in the Pacific. He worked as a Systems Analyst for Nabisco in East Hanover for 36 years before retiring in 1984. After retiring he assisted his wife at The Dogwood School in Chester as the Financial Administrator. "Everyday a New Adventure" was the lived-out theme of the Pre-School. Malcolm was very active in several Methodist churches over the years and was active in the church choir. He was very family centered and was always supportive of his children's activities and his wife's activities. He is survived by his wife, Rev. Edythe Joan Palmer of Long Valley, three sons; Malcolm Jeffrey of Sicklerville, NJ, Gregory Darrell of Layton, NJ and Karl Robert of Long Valley, three daughters Mary Lou Falber of Casper, WY, Rebecca Joan Palmer of Long Valley and Elizabeth Joy Palmer of Long Valley, and two sister Elaine Gillberg of Denver, CO and Flodella Stanley of Ormond Beach, FL. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, daughters and sons-in-law and many friends. Visitation will be held on Friday April 8, 2016 from 12 noon until 1:30 pm at The Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main St. Peapack. Funeral Service 1:30pm at the Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
