Obituary of Olive L. Sinclair

MENDHAM - Olive L. Sinclair died at Holly Manor Nursing Home on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 after a long illness. She was 88. Born in Brooklyn March 14, 1921 to the late John and Lillian Irma (Emerson) Megerle, she was a resident of Toms River before moving to Mendham nine years ago. She was an employee of Western Electric in College Point NY for over 16 years, retiring in 1980. Mrs. Sinclair was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. She attended St. Paul's Methodist Church in Brooklyn, and the Toms River Methodist Church. She lived and leaves behind a legacy of faith, love and strength. Mrs. Sinclair was predeceased by her second husband George in August 2008. She was also predeceased by her first husband James Joseph Gay and her brother Jack Mergele. She is survived by two daughters, Arden Sutton and her husband Les of Mendham, and Victoria Hafl and her husband Terry of Mason OH; her son James Joseph Gay Jr. and his wife Barbara of Carmel NY; and two sisters, Adrienne Warner and her husband Al of Whiting NJ, and Jeanne Beryl Metz and her husband Bert of Brooklyn; thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; and many other special relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at the Morristown United Methodist Church, South Park Place in Morristown (On the Green) on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at the Brig. General William C. Doyle/NJ State Veteran's Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ.
