Obituary of Richard P Mervin

Richard P. Mervin, affectionately known as "Uncle Dick" to most, passed away peacefully at home with his dog "PO" at his side, March 19th a day before his 92nd birthday. Born in Orange, NJ he was a resident of Brookside, for 86 years, 78 of them in the same house where he was raised along with brother's Skip and Jack and sister Betty, all who pre-deceased him. He served in the Army from 1942-1946. He studied Horticulture at Rutgers University and was a "Gentleman's" gardener for most of his life, laying out formal gardens for many of the estates in the area. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday May 23, 2015 at 11 am, St. Marks Episcopal Church, Mendham followed by burial at the Hilltop Cemetery.
