George F. Orth, 45, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2018, with his loved ones by his side.
Born in Toledo, OH, he lived most of his life in New Jersey, the past six years in Roxbury. George traveled the world with work and the military visiting places such as Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Bahrain, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.
George served in the United States Navy from 1995-2000. In Feb. 1996, Seaman George Orth attained the highest scholastic grade point average and was selected as Academic Award Winner for his division, Division 100.
After a break in service, Sgt. George Orth re-enlisted with the NJ National Guard/US Army. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and in 2009 was injured while overseas. He was medically discharged in 2012.
George served as a Jr. Fireman in Mendham Borough in his teenage years and was a member of the VFW Post 15031, Columbia, NJ Gun Club and a lifetime NRA member.
George was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams being the NY Jets and the NY Yankees. George also loved target shooting and spending time with his therapy horse Lucy. He also had a love for guns and tattoos.

his beautiful twin daughters Samantha and Leah (2), loving son of David and Laurie of Palm City, FL, dear brother of Charles of Hawaii and sister Megan Diffenderfer (Lee) of Baltimore, MD and his two nieces Alice and Grace Diffenderfer and cherished son in law of William and Elaine Burns of Fair Lawn, NJ
The family will receive friends on Thursday Feb. 1, 2018 from 4-8pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, Mendham. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday Feb 2, 2018 at 10am in the funeral home followed by a military honors ceremony at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to 11th Hour Rescue, Operation Centaur, Therapeutic Riding at Centenary College (TRAC) or GoFundMe George Orth Medical Fund.
